En TRACES, Wim Vandekeybus sigue las huellas que ha dejado. Mira hacia atrás en las intuiciones desde donde comenzó su búsqueda: Al drama de los impulsos y los instintos; al juego de las energías y las intensidades. En la abrumadora naturaleza rumana, con los últimos bosques primitivos de Europa, Vandekeybus busca rastros que son más antiguos que el hombre y su memoria. Por “la historia interior”, por la historia que se desarrolla antes o más allá del lenguaje y que solo se puede contar en los pulsos de la danza y la música.
Es una búsqueda de rastros de la naturaleza que el cuerpo ha olvidado o reprimido. ¿Cuánta naturaleza vive todavía en la humanidad humana? ¿Cuánto animal hay en el cuerpo humano? ¿Qué sucede cuando estamos en riesgo o en peligro, cuando tenemos que tomar decisiones intuitivas para sobrevivir?
Diez bailarines pasan a una banda sonora compuesta por Trixie Whitley, Shahzad Ismaily, Ben Perowsky y Daniel Mintseris, grabada con el invitado especial Marc Ribot en la guitarra.
Con TRACES, Wim Vandekeybus confirma que es uxn coreógrafo fenomenal: el muy físico In Spite of Wishing and Waiting, ya había emocionado al público, lo que resultó en expectativas muy altas. Con TRACES, esas expectativas no solo se cumplieron, sino que se superaron con creces. TRACES es mucho más que una simple coreografía: es una investigación sobre la naturaleza humana contada a través de cuerpos ágiles y espectaculares efectos escénicos".

In TRACES, Wim Vandekeybus follows the traces he has left. He looks back on the intuitions from whence his search began: to the drama of impulses and instincts; to the game of energies and intensities. In the overwhelming Romanian nature, with Europe's last primeval forests, Vandekeybus searches for traces that are older than man and his memory. For ‘the inner story’, for the story that unfolds before or beyond language and can only be told in the pulses of dance and music.
It is a search for traces of nature that the body has forgotten or repressed. How much nature still lives in human mankind? How much animal in the human body? What happens when at risk or in danger, when we have to take intuitive decisions to survive?
Ten dancers move to a soundtrack composed by Trixie Whitley, Shahzad Ismaily, Ben Perowsky and Daniel Mintseris, recorded with special guest Marc Ribot on guitar.
